From dailykos: It has backfired. Sarah Palin excites the conservative base, and that’s great for them. She doesn’t do much for anybody else, and her selection forces the McCain campaign to abandon the one good talking point they had, for if Sarah Palin is experienced enough to be president, Obama is experienced enough to be God.

Also, I wonder if Pat Buchanan is looking for a good spice to go with crow: “The rise of women to power in a civilization is very often the mark of its decline.”

Many years ago I read that a first-rate manager hires first-rate people and a second-rate manager hires third-rate people. We now have unquestionable proof that McCain is not first-rate. I hope that his choice of Palin makes everybody with half a brain vote for Obama.

Not to make you even more appalled, but I read on TPM that Geraldine Ferraro approves of Palin, and won’t say who she’s going to vote for.

Help me Alice, I need therapy. The pick of this person has had me foaming at the mouth for 48 hours now. I can’t take it. It’s killing me. You are wise Alice, I know you are.
