Friday Creature

This week, I bring you the white ibis — a pair flying along the surface of the water. It’s not the greatest photo in the world in terms of detail (a closer photo will appear later in the series), but you can see some black wingtips on the one in the back, which is a characteristic that can be hard to make out when they’re wading.

Welcome to the weekend, folks! The ark is up and the weather looks fine — at least in my neck of the woods! Have a great one!

And of course, the first thing I thought of was Egypt. Nice shot!

What a beautiful bird Alice. I have only seen the White-faced Ibis here in California. They all remind me of prehistoric birds.

Egypt and prehistory! This bird definitely takes us back to the ancient world… I wonder why?

Ask a question, and I google it: The ibis is associated with Thoth, the scribe to the gods. What better association for a bunch of bloggers? :-)
