Hi Alice:

Has the AIP shown up on your blog, yet? Head Thinker is the name and they showed up on my blog to leave a comment via a link saying Sarah Palin has nothing to do with them. Yeah right. What about the little welcoming presentation she gave to them in spring of 2008? What about Todd?

Sarah is so out of her league in the lower 48. She may have been able to strong arm and intimidate voices in Alaska but it ain’t workin’ down here.

Expectations

Hello! I'm Alice, which is my real name (most of the other names here have been changed, though, to protect the innocent). I live in an almost-100-year-old house in downtown Chattanooga, TN with my first husband, Ralph, and a cockapoo named Nonnie (the moniker comes from a Laurens van der Post book). Our daughter, Emmie, plays a supporting role on the blog -- she's off being a student, but she pops in often enough to keep things interesting.

I originally hale from Batavia, NY, a quiet little town in rural western New York. Ralph and I met while attending college in Carlisle, PA, and then moved on to Chapel Hill, NC together before finally settling in Tennessee. Other places we've lived in long enough to have a mailing address include London and San Francisco.

This blog is about a lot of things -- the places I visit, things I cook, people I meet, photos I take, things I read, and so on. I do admit, though, that at times, I can get bogged down in politics -- and this is one of those times. One way or another, I'll get off my hobby horse at the beginning of November and at that point, some topical diversity should return to the discussion.
